WBZ first broadcasts in Springfield.

The broadcasts airs live from the Eastern States Exposition. The first licensed commercial radio station in the U.S. on September 15, 1921 (the first to broadcast is WEAF in New York City on 8/28/1921), WBZ begins broadcasting in Boston through affiliate WBZA., from a studio (first) at the Hotel Brunswick on February 24, 1924 [11/15/1924]. The stations switch call letters in March 1931. WBZ moves to a new studio (second) on Soldiers Field Road in 1948* and to Medford (third) in 2018. Originally a Westinghouse station, it becomes a CBS affiliate in 1995, and is taken over by iHeart Media in 2017.
